Children’s Bedroom Interior Design Ideas

When it comes to planning to designing or decorating your children’s bedroom, always start from the approach with your children, and it has to be simply different with designing the adult’s bedroom. Because the children’s bedroom should reflect their personality, not their parent’s.

There are some “strategies” to create a proper children bedroom, which are :
1. Discuss with your child
Find out what kind of activities they like, their fantasies, their favorite colors, what’s unique from them, and anything around you that can be something decorative. Blend all their interests into one compact bedroom design in order to make them comfortable, happy and safe being in their room.

2. Create a multi-functional room
Since kids use their bedroom not only for sleeping or resting, but also for studying and playing, the bedroom has to be a multi-functional room. Therefore, you have to sort out the areas in the bedroom; reading area, playing with friends area, a space to display their trophies or photos or anything.

3. A good lighting
The children’s bedroom should have a good lighting, both for the educational necessaries or for the relaxation lighting. The night lighting should also be considered, if your child doesn’t feel comfortable sleeping in the dark.

4. Apply wallpapers or wall paintings
To enliven the atmosphere in the bedroom, you can apply wallpapers with funny motifs, or you can also paint stars and clouds in the ceilings. It’s recommended to make sure that the walls or ceilings can be easily repainted in order to change the pattern as the children’s preferences.

5. Let them choose the theme
The choices are unlimited; a starry night, the cartoon figures, sporty, animals, a princess’ bedroom, outer space, forests, and many more. Importantly, you have to leave this part of the decorating to your child, let them choose.
